AnvilCalc (anvilcalc.com, and its MCP server at mcp.anvilcalc.com) is operated by Elmeris LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("Elmeris," "we," "us"). This policy explains, in plain terms, what data AnvilCalc collects and how it's used — the short version is: we don't collect any personal information at all. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no forms anywhere on the site.
Summary
- No accounts, no sign-up, no email address or contact form anywhere on the site.
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4) records anonymous, aggregate usage events only — never your name, email, IP-linked identity, or anything that identifies you personally.
- Your inventories, saved plans, and edition/version preferences are stored only in your own browser's local storage. They never leave your device or reach any Elmeris server.
- Sharing a plan or inventory link, or exporting one to a file, is a purely client-side operation — the data is encoded directly into the link or file on your device, not uploaded anywhere first.
- The MCP server is public, stateless, and read-only: it computes an answer from whatever an agent sends it and stores nothing afterward.
Information we collect
AnvilCalc has no user accounts and no way to submit personal information through the site (no contact form, no comments, no checkout). The only data we ever see is:
Anonymous analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-CZJC2S4WJC) to understand, in aggregate, how the calculator is used — which pages get visited, which features get used, and whether people find what they're looking for. This happens through two kinds of signals:
- Standard pageview/session data that Google Analytics collects automatically (page visited, referring site, device/browser type, approximate region derived from IP address — Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address itself once that approximation is made).
- Custom usage events we've added ourselves, covering things like: selecting an item or enchantment on the calculator, computing a result (and whether it was feasible), toggling "Use only items in my inventory," creating/renaming/switching an inventory, adding or removing an inventory item, marking a plan step done, sharing or exporting a plan or inventory, and following a link to an external site. Every one of these events only ever carries small, non-identifying details relevant to that action — things like an item id, an enchantment count, a total XP cost, or which edition (Java/Bedrock) was in use. None of them carry your name, email address, IP address, device identifier, or any other personally identifying value, and we never set a Google
user_idor any other identifier that would let us recognize you individually or across devices.
In short: analytics tells us that a feature got used and roughly how often, never who used it.
Data stored only in your browser
Your inventories (books/items you've told the calculator you own), saved calculator picks, and edition/version preferences are stored using your browser's localStorage — a storage area built into every browser that stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. We have no way to see, back up, or recover this data; clearing your browser's site data for anvilcalc.com deletes it permanently, and that's the only way it's ever deleted, since it's never copied anywhere else.
When you share a plan link, share an inventory link, or export an inventory to a .json file, the relevant data is encoded directly into that link's URL fragment or into the downloaded file on your own device — it is never uploaded to an Elmeris server first. Opening a shared link decodes it back out of the URL in the recipient's own browser the same way.
The MCP server
mcp.anvilcalc.com is a public, unauthenticated, stateless server that AI agents can call to run the same calculations as the website. It has no database and no accounts: each request is answered from the data the caller sends in that single request, and nothing about the request is stored afterward beyond the ordinary, short-lived operational logs any web server keeps (see "Hosting" below).
Cookies
AnvilCalc's own code does not set any cookies. Loading the Google Analytics script causes Google to set its own first-party analytics cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_*) in your browser, which Google uses to distinguish anonymous sessions from one another. We do not control these cookies directly; see Google's own policies linked below if you'd like more detail, or use your browser's cookie/tracking-protection settings, an ad blocker, or Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to block them.
Hosting and infrastructure
The site and MCP server are hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare Workers). Like virtually every web host, Cloudflare's infrastructure keeps short-lived operational/security logs of requests (e.g. IP address, timestamp, requested URL) as a normal part of running the network — this is standard infrastructure logging, not something AnvilCalc configures, queries, or uses for analytics. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy for how each of those companies handles data on their own platforms.
Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information — there is no personal information collected in the first place to sell. Anonymous, aggregate analytics data is processed by Google as described above, and request/traffic data passes through Cloudflare as our hosting provider. We do not share anything with any other third party.
Children's privacy
AnvilCalc collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and is a general-audience reference tool with no age gate. Because nothing personally identifying is ever collected, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on a child's (or anyone else's) behalf beyond what a parent or user can already do themselves by clearing their own browser's local storage.
Your choices
- Clear your local data any time via your browser's site settings (clearing site data/local storage for anvilcalc.com) — this instantly and permanently removes every inventory and saved preference, since nothing is duplicated on our end.
- Block analytics using your browser's tracking protection, an ad/script blocker, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above. The calculator, inventory, and MCP server all work identically with analytics blocked.
- Don't share a link or file if you don't want its contents (an inventory or plan) to leave your device — sharing/exporting is always an explicit, opt-in action you take, never automatic.
International users
Because we collect no personal information ourselves, there is no personal data of yours for us to transfer internationally. Google Analytics processes anonymous analytics data on Google's own global infrastructure under Google's own data-processing terms, regardless of where you're located.
Data retention
We retain nothing ourselves, since we collect nothing beyond what's described above. Anonymous analytics event data is retained by Google under Google Analytics' standard retention settings. Anything in your browser's local storage is retained for as long as you keep it there.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes (e.g. if a new feature changes what data is involved). The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision; continued use of AnvilCalc after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
