Wind Burst launches you back into the air after a mace smash attack — letting you chain smash attacks from height without needing to climb back up or find another fall each time.

What Wind Burst actually does

Landing a smash attack with Wind Burst equipped launches the wielder upward: roughly 8 blocks at level I, 16 at level II, 24 at level III. That height is immediately usable for another smash attack, since a mace's smash attack only requires falling 1.5+ blocks to trigger.

How to use it

Wind Burst is what makes repeated mace smash attacks practical without external height sources (towers, wind charges, elytra) — land a smash, get launched back up, fall again, repeat. The mace's naturally slow attack speed is the real limiting factor on how fast you can chain this, not the enchantment itself.

Well-known builds that use it

Wind Burst is one of the two signature mace enchantments — see The Ideal Mace Enchantments for the full build. Wind Burst is the standard pick alongside Density or Breach for sustained smash-attack combat, rather than a single big hit.

Frequently asked questions

How high does Wind Burst launch you?

Roughly 8 blocks at level I, 16 at level II, 24 at level III — each enough on its own to trigger another smash attack on landing.

Does Wind Burst conflict with Density or Breach?

No — Wind Burst has no conflicts with either. It's commonly run alongside one of them, not instead of it.
