Minecraft Enchantment Guides: Every Enchantment Explained

Every enchantment has its own guide with the exact numbers: the damage formula for Sharpness, the burn time of Fire Aspect, the share of damage Protection removes, the armor Breach ignores. Each page lists the maximum level, the items the enchantment applies to, the enchantments it conflicts with, how to obtain it and when it is worth the anvil levels. Read the conflicts list before you commit books to a build, because an enchantment that conflicts with another one on the same item cannot be combined with it.

The pages are grouped by what the enchantments do: general enchantments and curses, melee weapons, armor, tools and fishing, and ranged weapons. All Minecraft Enchantments is the complete list if you prefer one table to browse. Conflicts matter most for weapons and armor: Sharpness, Smite and Bane of Arthropods exclude each other, and so do the Protection types on a single piece.

When you are ready to choose a full set for a specific item, the best-of lists rank the enchantments for you, and the calculator prices the cheapest order in which to combine them, so you pay anvil levels only for enchantments that earn their place.
