Sharing Your Inventory

Beyond exporting to a file, an inventory can also be shared as a link — handy for showing off a stocked-up book collection, or handing a starter set of enchantments to another player, without either of you touching a file.

What a share link includes

Tap Share inventory on /inventory to copy a link containing that inventory's name and items only — no icon, no color, and nothing that identifies you. That's different from Importing and Exporting Inventories, whose .json files also carry the inventory's appearance and edition/version, and it's different again from Sharing a Combine Plan, which shares a resolved set of anvil steps rather than an inventory at all.

Receiving a shared inventory

Opening someone's inventory link takes you to /inventory with a banner showing the shared inventory's name and a preview of its items. Tapping Save as my own inventory adds it as a brand-new inventory of your own (it never touches or replaces anything you already have) and switches to it. If the name collides with one you already own, " (2)", " (3)", and so on is appended automatically.

Why it's a separate mechanism from file export

Inventory sharing is built for handing a copy to someone else over a link — no file to save or attach, and no risk of leaking which icon/color you personally picked for it. Use file export/import instead when you're moving your own inventory between your own devices or browsers.
